The Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives is a statewide organization serving Iowa's rural electric cooperatives. The Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives provides guidance and support on issues common to the rural electric cooperatives. Services offered by the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives include legislative representation at the state and national levels, safety programs, youth activities, statewide disaster plans, review of utility regulations, benefit administration, communication programs, and a monthly magazine for Iowa's rural electric cooperative consumers.

Directors are elected for a three-year term.
When and how are they elected?
They are nominated at the district meetings and elected at the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives annual meeting.

Government Relations Committee — the committee that serves the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives Board of Directors in an advisory capacity regarding legislative matters.
Association Services Committee — a committee that serves in an advisory capacity to the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives board on membership needs regarding communication, education and other services provided by or through the association.
Safety and Loss Control Committee — serves the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives board in an advisory capacity regarding safety matters.
