Chief Executive Officer (Lake Region Electric Cooperative - Minnesota)

 

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

 

The Board of Directors of Lake Region Electric Cooperative (LREC) seeks qualified candidates for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.

 

The CEO is responsible for advising and assisting the Board of Directors in the formulation and determination of sound business strategies, objectives, policies and programs which will merit and obtain the support of consumers/members of the cooperative.  LREC’s service territory has a demonstrated pattern of steady growth.  Long range planning, finance and equity management, consumer/member relations and operational assessment will be a focal point for the CEO.  The successful candidate must have strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, and be capable of visionary, strategic thinking.  LREC is looking for an individual with extensive senior management experience, unquestioned integrity, and a commitment to the highest level of consumer/member, as well as employee, service.

 

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting, Public Administration, or related fields.  Significant experience in the electric utility field would be considered in lieu of a degree.  A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is encouraged.  The successful candidate must be supportive of cooperative principles and demonstrate the ability to work closely and effectively with LREC’s member elected Board of Directors to effectively deliver electric services at low cost rates.

 

LREC serves 25,000 consumers/members in the beautiful lake country of west-central Minnesota, 45 miles southeast of the Fargo/Moorhead metropolitan area.  LREC has 91 employees, 5,400 miles of line, and annual revenues in excess of $31 million.  LREC headquarters, completed in 1997, is state-of-the-art.
