Line Superintendent (Nebraska)

Loup Valleys Rural Public Power District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Line Superintendent.

 

A high school diploma required.  Specialized training in electric utility operations suggested.  Two year technical school degree in power line work or related field preferred.  Ten years of experience in power systems operations and/or engineering required.  An additional five years of experience may be substituted for some of the suggested and/or preferred education.

 

Must possess knowledge of distribution system operations, system layout, National Electric Safety Code, and safe working practices.  Must be knowledgeable about transportation and power-operated equipment applications and regulations.

 

Job will entail responsibility for management of the line crew, including assigning duties each day, making sure the crew is completing each duty as efficiently as possible, allocating truck resources in the most efficient manner, employee discipline, recognizing maintenance issues (both line and truck), problem solving and to promote good customer relations.

 

Loup Valleys has 19 full-time employees serving 5,147 meters over 2,007 miles of distribution and sub-transmission lines.  The District is headquartered in Ord, Nebraska.  Ord, with a population of approximately 2,400, offers the benefits of a small town environment, with excellent health care and educational opportunities.  The area also offers several recreational opportunities that provide for excellent hunting, fishing, boating and golfing.
