Cooperative Communications Manager (South Dakota)
East River Electric Power Cooperative, located in Madison, South Dakota, is accepting applications for the position of Cooperative Communications Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in media relations, writing and communications planning. The person selected for the position will be responsible for working with the East River Electric management team in developing and implementing a long range communications plan that will assist East River’s members in communicating important issues facing electric cooperatives and will include representing the Cooperative at regional and national meetings. The successful applicant will develop relations with area media and work closely with the Cooperative’s Marketing Manager and advertising firm to help coordinate the marketing and communications message for the Cooperative. This position will also be responsible for supervision of the Cooperative’s education and outreach program.
Education and background minimum requirements:
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in communications and media relations.
East River Electric is a wholesale power supply cooperative that delivers wholesale power through a 2,600-mile transmission system to 21 member electric distribution systems throughout eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota.
