Chief Executive Officer/General Manager (Wisconsin)
Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative, headquartered in Centuria, Wisconsin, with a branch office in Siren, Wisconsin, is seeking a highly qualified individual to succeed the CEO/GM retiring in August 2008. Located 1½ hours NE of Minneapolis/St.Paul in northwestern Wisconsin, the cooperative has 20,000 electric members plus two wholly-owned subsidiaries, propane and security, with a combined total of 92 employees. Reporting to a nine-member board of directors, the successful candidate should have a minimum of five years experience in an upper management position and preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in a field related to the challenges of the CEO position.
This individual must have a positive attitude and a strong background/experience in the areas of accounting, member relations, personnel and electric operations with outstanding oral and written communications skills. It is essential this individual has a team spirit, is driven by cooperative concepts/principles and has the ability to work well with members, employees and the board of directors. With a full benefit package, compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate should be able to begin work by the fall of 2008.
