Agribusiness Association of Iowa - Mona Bond, CEO
The Agribusiness Association of Iowa represents the retail agricultural industry in Iowa that sells to Iowa farmers virtually all of the inputs used in crop production and handle the bulk of the grain grown in the state by moving it across the country and overseas through various means of inter-modal transportation.
With nearly 900 member facilities, AAI members include independent and cooperatives retail centers and the companies that sell to those retail centers including the manufacturers, formulators and distributors of crop protection products, plant food, feed, grain, seed, biotech, equipment, petroleum and many ancillary companies that do business in Iowa in addition to livestock growers and processors. AAI member companies operate in Iowa and across the nation to produce, sell and distribute virtually all the products used by Iowa farmers.
_______
Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives - Brian Kading, Executive Vice President
Iowa's electric cooperatives serve more than 200,000 rural homes, farms and businesses in all 99 counties. Iowa's electric cooperatives are committed to delivering power that is safe, reliable, environmentally responsible and affordable. In addition, electric cooperatives are:
* Private, independent electric utility businesses
* Established to provide at-cost electric service
* Owned by the consumers they serve
* Governed by a board of directors elected from the membership
Many of Iowa's electric cooperatives are Touchstone Energy partners - a national alliance of local, consumer-owned electric cooperatives. More than 600 Touchstone Energy cooperatives in 44 states are delivering energy and energy solutions to more than 17 million customers every day.
_______
Iowa Biotechnology Association - Doug Getter, Executive Director
The Iowa Biotechnology Association was formed in 1994 to advance opportunities in Iowa for the improvement of human, environmental and economic well being through the development and application of value-added technologies in the life sciences. Working cooperatively, the members strive to enhance the ability to commercialize new technologies in a timely manner and reduce the lead-time for deployment.
Activities of the Association are designed to give companies doing business in Iowa an edge in delivering timely new products to consumers through the sharing of ideas regarding the transfer and development of technologies.
_______
Iowa Institute for Cooperatives - Dave Holm, Executive Director
The Iowa Institute for Cooperatives is the trade association for cooperatives in Iowa. The largest segment of membership is grain and farm supply cooperatives. Membership also includes rural electric and telephone cooperatives, renewable fuels associations, cooperative ag credit providers and credit unions. These customer owned businesses operate primarily in rural Iowa communities providing goods, services and value added processing opportunities to their member owners. These cooperatives are often the largest employer and taxpayer in the rural communities they serve as well as key participants in attracting economic development to their local service areas.
