Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accounts Payable and General Accountant. Position objectives and responsibilities are as follows:
- To provide accurate and timely accounting, expense classification, and payment of the Cooperative’s accounts payable.
- To work with Cooperative member-owners on estate retirements of capital credits.
- To perform accounting duties, preparation of reports and general office duties required of an accountant.
- Perform professional accounting work which requires the regular application of well-established principles, theories, concepts and practices.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative offers a strong benefits package including IAEC and NRECA insurance programs and NRECA 401(k) and defined benefit pension plans

Requirements
Requirements:
- An Associate’s Degree in Accounting and two to three years of experience in accounting or accounts payable is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills necessary.
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail is required.
- Be receptive to and competently use new technologies.
- Strong business ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Pre-employment drug test required.
