Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative (Northeast Power) has an immediate opening for an Assistant Controller at the Palmyra, Missouri, location. Northeast Power is a transmission cooperative delivering power to northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa.
What You Will Do:
This position will play an important role by accurately recording and interpreting financial and accounting transactions as well as provide essential support to the Controller. In addition, you will:
- Close work orders in a timely manner
- Assist with the general ledger process as well as monthly closing of various software modules such as asset management, material inventory and miscellaneous receivables
- Process real and personal property tax assessment forms and related bills
- Assist external auditors with year-end inventory and other audit procedures as needed
- Act as backup to Controller and be able to accomplish required functions in absence of Controller as directed

Requirements
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a candidate with strong problem-solving and analytical skills who possesses a positive attitude. In addition, we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Minimum two (2) years work experience in accounting profession
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced with personal computers with high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with accounting software a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced work environment
