The Cooperative has an immediate opening in our Wilton location for a Distribution Engineer.

I. OBJECTIVE

Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative (EILP) is seeking a Distribution Engineer to assist with engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance functions of our substations and distribution system. The Distribution Engineer will play a key role in maintaining adequate system capacity, upholding service standards, ensuring protection coordination, improving system reliability, and supporting system construction efforts. The successful candidate will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to help EILP meet its mission and goals.

 

II. POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university, with a strong understanding of power engineering.
  • Additional specialized training in electric utility system design, operation, and planning is highly desirable.


Experience:

  • Up to five (5) years of experience in the utility industry is preferred.
  • Ability to work towards becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Iowa.


Licensing & Driving:

  • Possess a valid Class D Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record, insurable under the Cooperative’s insurance policy.
