A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DISTRIBUTION LINEMAN / JOURNEYMAN
As a line technician, you play a key role in keeping the lights on for our members. Your main responsibility is to help supply the present and future needs of our company's members in an efficient and economical manner. To enhance the quality of life for the communities we serve, you assist in building, maintaining, and repairing all overhead and underground power distribution lines. At times, you respond to power outages and any other problems members may be having. By troubleshooting the issue, you are able to restore power in a timely manner. You always uphold our company's standard of providing the most reliable electric service and find great satisfaction in helping our members!
QUALIFICATIONS OF A DISTRIBUTION LINEMAN / JOURNEYMAN
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an apprenticeship lineman program
- Class B CDL required; Class A CDL preferred
- 5+ years of experience working in electric utility distribution operations, including distribution system construction and maintenance
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions
- Ability to work overtime and be on-call as needed
