Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative (Northeast Power) is a transmission cooperative delivering power to northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa. We are currently seeking an Engineering Technician at the Palmyra, Missouri, location. Core working hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

What You Will Do:
This position will effectively assist with securing, analyzing and maintaining engineering data. In addition, this position will:

  • Assist with the various phases of design documentation analysis and other work for new transmission and substation facility construction or modifications of existing transmission and substation facilities
  • Assist with preparing equipment specifications and bid evaluation processes and proposals
  • Maintain data to provide information for and support of construction work plans and other engineering studies
  • Draw and keep updated system transmission maps, telecommunication maps and various other maps as required or assigned
  • Occasional field inspection for transmission, substation and/or GIS data verification

What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for an ambitious individual with strong problem-solving skills who has strong knowledge of electrical schematics and general substation layout. In addition, we are looking for: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum two (2) years’ related experience or an Associate Degree in CADD/Mechanical drafting or related technical field
  • Experience in CAD and PLS-CADD preferred
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain FAA certification as a drone licensed operator as well as a valid    Class E (or equivalent) driver’s license
  • Proficient with personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite and operation of general office equipment
  • Ability to multi-task and work well with others in a fast-paced environment
