Job Details
Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) is currently searching for a Generation Engineer to join the team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position performs plant engineering and project management and other duties related to operation, maintenance, and capital improvements of the Cooperative’s generation facilities. This position also performs power plant fuel and production cost analysis, power market analysis, and power plant efficiency studies.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform and prepare written results of engineering studies conducted for the efficient operation and maintenance of the CIPCO generating facilities.
- Assist CIPCO plant management with operations analyses and maintenance troubleshooting.Assist the Supervisor of Generation Engineering with recommending, planning, and at CIPCO-operated generating plants.
- Perform analysis on generation production costing, fuel budgeting, and power markets.
- Assist in the preparation of annual capital and O&M budgets for CIPCO-operated generating facilities.
- From time to time, participate in committee meetings with dispatch partners.
- Assist the Director of Generation Assets.
- Assist the Manager of Environmental and Safety as required on environmental monitoring and reporting efforts.
