IT Support and Business Intelligence Internship – Summer 2026

Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) is currently seeking a full-time IT Support and Business Intelligence Intern for Summer 2026, with the potential for flexible hours during the 2026 – 2027 school year based on availability and project needs. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in technical support and data-driven projects, contributing to the efficiency and innovation of our IT department.

This internship can be based in either our Cedar Rapids or Des Moines, Iowa office. In-state travel to Member-owner sites may be available based on project needs and candidate preference.

Duties:

Provide help desk support to CIPCO member-owners, primarily addressing technical issues and troubleshooting hardware/software problems remotely.
Assist in the development and maintenance of BI systems, including data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
Collaborate with the IT team to identify areas for improvement in existing systems and support the implementation of new technologies.
Document issues and resolutions in the help desk system, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
Participate in training sessions and contribute to user education on BI and AI tools.

Requirements

Requirements:

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field from a technical school or four-year degree program.
Preferably a second or third-year student, but first-year students with relevant skills will also be considered.
Basic knowledge of IT support, including familiarity with Windows operating systems, networking concepts, and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience or coursework in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Platform) and/or AI concepts is a plus but not required.
Strong analytical skills and an eagerness to learn about data management and analysis.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
