IT Support and Business Intelligence Internship – Summer 2026
Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) is currently seeking a full-time IT Support and Business Intelligence Intern for Summer 2026, with the potential for flexible hours during the 2026 – 2027 school year based on availability and project needs. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in technical support and data-driven projects, contributing to the efficiency and innovation of our IT department.
This internship can be based in either our Cedar Rapids or Des Moines, Iowa office. In-state travel to Member-owner sites may be available based on project needs and candidate preference.
Duties:
- Provide help desk support to CIPCO member-owners, primarily addressing technical issues and troubleshooting hardware/software problems remotely.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of BI systems, including data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
- Collaborate with the IT team to identify areas for improvement in existing systems and support the implementation of new technologies.
- Document issues and resolutions in the help desk system, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
- Participate in training sessions and contribute to user education on BI and AI tools.

Requirements
Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field from a technical school or four-year degree program.
- Preferably a second or third-year student, but first-year students with relevant skills will also be considered.
- Basic knowledge of IT support, including familiarity with Windows operating systems, networking concepts, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience or coursework in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Platform) and/or AI concepts is a plus but not required.
- Strong analytical skills and an eagerness to learn about data management and analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
