Job Training and Safety Instructor - Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives

The Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives (IAEC) seeks a full-time Job Training and Safety Instructor.
Key responsibilities include assisting with the planning and implementation of safety training programs for member cooperatives and association staff in compliance with regulations issued under OSHA, DOT, National Electric Safety Code, among many others. To serve as a resource to members for safety-related matters. To make visits to cooperatives for safety meetings, accreditation reviews, accident investigation, job site observations and oversight of apprentice testing.
This position reports to the Director of Safety and Loss Control. Applicants should have a thorough understanding and broad background in line work and corresponding knowledge associated with electric energy and safety and health that would be acquired through education and/or several years of experience in progressively more responsible positions. A considerable amount of in-state travel is required, with most of it being in western Iowa. Some out-of-state travel is also necessary. Would work primarily out of a home office, with regularly scheduled workdays at the headquarters in Urbandale. Good problem-solving and analytical skills are needed. Strong AV skills and exceptional computer skills are a must.
The Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives is a trade association established to support the interests of member-owned electric cooperatives, including 39 distribution co-ops, nine generation and transmission co-ops and an economic development organization. Formed in 1942, IAEC aims to unify and empower Iowa's electric cooperatives through legislative representation, regulatory oversight, training and education services, safety programs, communications support and advocacy.
