Linn County REC is currently seeking an Apprentice or Journeyman Line Worker at our North Liberty Operation Center (835 W. 240th Street, North Liberty, Iowa 52317) who performs assigned work related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of the overhead and underground electric distribution system and related equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installs, replaces, or retires poles, crossarms, insulators; repairs conductors; and replaces or repairs other equipment or materials necessary
- Installs, replaces or retires transformers, oil circuit reclosers, capacitors, voltage regulators, switches, and other related equipment
- Repairs outages when notified
- Other related duties as assigned

Starting wage range: $36.56 - $42.11
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Powerline Diploma/Proof of Graduation from an Accredited Line School (10-month program or comparable education and experience)
- Class A CDL
Must also possess the following knowledge and experience:
- Familiarity with mapping software
- Knowledge of the tools, materials and equipment regularly used by line workers and be able to operate the equipment as required by work assignments
- Ability to operate the equipment utilized by a line worker
- Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends
- Must reside within 25 minutes of assigned facility
