Pella Cooperative Electric Association (PCEA) has an opening for a Senior Accountant. 

The Senior Accountant will maintain complete and accurate financial accounting records of the Cooperative in accordance with GAAP and the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) System of Accounts.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for month-end and year-end closing and related journal entries. Prepares financial reports, analyzes variances, and supplies management with timely and relevant financial analysis as requested. Responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts and preparation of audit work papers. Prepares annual budget and financial forecasts with the assistance of management. Responsible for filing financial reports with various state and federal agencies. Provides support for other positions within the organization. Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. PCEA offers competitive wages and benefits.



BS/BA in Accounting or closely related field required with 3-6 years of accounting experience preferred. CPA/CMA preferred. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and willing to develop proficiency in other applicable accounting and operating systems. Must be able to prepare a variety of reports and paperwork with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. An understanding of the utility industry is desirable.
