Job Details
The Cooperative has an immediate opening in our Wilton location for a union substation journeyperson. On-call rotation is optional.
Responsibilities include but not limited to: service related to electrical wiring, substations, switching stations, and associated apparatus; assist, when assigned, with maintenance of communications equipment; perform labor required in construction, operation and maintenance of Cooperative transmission and distribution lines; knowledge and responsibility of locating and eliminating any trouble which may develop on the lines of the Cooperative; work on lines either dead or energized at voltages up to the maximum voltage of the system; perform similar and less skilled work as required to the end that effective service is furnished to Cooperative members; and to carry an equitable share of the workload.
Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be high school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of a line school and have successfully completed a certified apprenticeship program.
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Must possess the necessary skills required to accomplish tasks assigned.
Background and pre-employment physical and illegal substance test is required.
