Job Details

Iowa Area Development Group (IADG) is currently seeking a Vice President, Value-Added Agriculture to provide support and assist in the development and implementation of IADG economic development strategies and manage activities designed to advance business locations and expansions primarily focused in the area of value-added agriculture and the biosciences.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, planning, implementation, and evaluation of strategies for attraction, retention, and expansion of businesses.
  • Provide technical assistance, professional services and facilitates access to financial assistance programs to support business growth.
  • Participate in the effort to gather, monitor, and analyze data on IADG’s targeted industries, local and regional trends, and competition.
  • Provide education, training and technical assistance to members, public and private business, and development partners to ensure a consistent and coordinated effort.
  • Maximize the awareness of IADG, its sponsors and members at tradeshows and industry events; and maintains mutually cooperative and supportive relationships with these audiences.
  • Serve as an IADG liaison with businesses, industry and economic development groups, agricultural organizations, and commodity groups.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 5 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in, with, or working knowledge of, agribusiness, utility management, business and/or economic development or some combination thereof; experience managing / coordinating projects
