Rural Electric Supply Cooperative (RESCO), is a member-owned, wholesale distributor of high voltage electrical products.  With a strong presence in the Midwest, we pride ourselves on competitive pricing, efficient delivery and exceptional customer support ensuring our members have access to the inventory they need.  

We are looking for a Regional Vice President to join our team in Elkhart, IA (Des Moines area).  This position will be responsible for building strong relationships with key stakeholders, executing sales strategies and leading a team in the assigned territory which includes Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri.  Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach and develop sales, warehouse and administrative team members to drive performance and accountability.
  • Develop and execute all regional sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to develop strategic recommendations that support growth objectives.
  • Support day-to-day warehouse operations ensuring efficient shipping and receiving, inventory control, logistics coordination and on-time delivery while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
  • Travel with outside sales and management staff to customer sites to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Represent RESCO at regional industry events to build and maintain relationships with our members, prospective partners and manufacturers.
  • Champion and communicate our cooperative business model to customers, manufacturers and strategic partners.
  • Monitor industry changes, identify emerging product opportunities and proactively communicate insights with team and executive leadership.
  • Support the development and presentation of alliance partnership strategies to customers.
  • Partner with the IT team to implement and support RESCO Connect solutions and integrations with customers.
  • Work closely with purchasing to align inventory levels with customer demand and manufacturer opportunities.
  • Participate in board meetings and contribute to strategic discussions and planning.
  • Participate in weekly management team meetings to align cross-functional priorities and initiatives.
  • Manage expenses for territory to ensure performance within approved budget.

 

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.  At least 7 years of experience in a sales leadership role is required.  Experience in the utility industry is preferred.  Other qualifications include:

  • Ability to build relationships and gain trust with stakeholders.
  • Exceptional negotiation and executive-level communication skills.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead teams across territories.
  • Financial acumen including pricing strategy and margin management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license to be able to travel 25-30% of the time.
