Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives

POLICY & ADVOCACY

IAEC's Policy & Advocacy Department is responsible for managing policy issues and relationships with the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government. We also coordinate grassroots advocacy efforts through Iowa Rural Power

The department oversees a political action committee, Iowa FORE (Friends of Rural Electrification), and coordinates the contribution of funds to candidates who support the interests and goals of electric cooperatives. Contributions to FORE are for political purposes and are voluntary. Click to learn more about IAEC's political action involvement.

Our Policy & Advocacy Department is also responsible for regulatory activities including model documents, energy efficiency reports, and other policy projects on behalf of our member co-ops. Additionally, we monitor industry trends and issues that may affect our members or future policy.
