Starting August 1, you can apply to be part of the Iowa Electric Cooperative Youth Ambassador Program—a leadership initiative designed for 2025 Youth Tour delegates who want to stay active with their local electric cooperatives and make a difference in their communities.

💵 $1,000 Scholarship Requirements
To qualify for the $1,000 scholarship drawing, complete all four of the following activities between August 1, 2025 and April 15, 2026:

Participate in a community event with your cooperative.
(Examples: speak at a local club, help with a food drive, join a parade, host a booth at a co-op event. Contact your co-op coordinator for options.) -
Make one social media post per month using #IAYTDC on Facebook or Instagram.
(Share Youth Tour memories, energy tips, leadership quotes, etc. Tag Iowa Youth Tour and your local co-op.) -
Give a presentation about Iowa Youth Tour at your high school, homeschool group, church, FFA, or 4-H.

Attend your co-op’s annual meeting and be recognized.
(If your co-op doesn’t hold an in-person meeting during this timeframe, work with them to find an alternative activity.)
💵💵 $5,000 Scholarship Requirements
To qualify for the $5,000 scholarship drawing, you must:

Complete all four activities required for the $1,000 scholarship.

Complete five additional activities from the list below to earn one entry.

Complete ten additional activities to earn two entries.

Bonus Entry: Attend REC Day on the Hill in March 2026.

Record a 1-minute video about your Youth Tour experience

Recommend three students for the 2026 Youth Tour

Meet with a school leader to share your Youth Tour experience

Send your top three Youth Tour photos to your co-op coordinator

Host a National Voter Registration Day event at your school

Plan an event with your co-op for International Co-op Month (October)

Write an article for your co-op’s newsletter about Youth Tour
📝 Verification & Selection
You’ll work directly with your co-op’s Youth Tour coordinator throughout the program. At the end of the timeline, your coordinator will verify your completed tasks. Scholarship drawings will take place in May 2026.
