Also, as a youth selected to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, I learned about that process and some behind-the-scenes information in a private meeting with the Tomb Sentinels. Students should apply next year because it is so much fun. They may see things they’ll never be able to experience otherwise, and there are so many other young people to meet—not just from Iowa, but from all over the country!”
