For more than 65 years, Iowa’s electric cooperatives have proudly sponsored high school students on a weeklong journey to Washington, D.C., as part of the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour. Each June, sponsored students explore the nation’s capital, connect with peers from across the country, and gain a deeper understanding of American history, government, and the cooperative business model.

Eligibility
High school students in Iowa with a passion for government, leadership and public service are encouraged to apply. Each year, approximately 40 Iowa students are selected by their local electric cooperatives. Selection criteria vary by co-op, so be sure to check with yours for specific details.
